Residential Services

Your property tax statement usually arrives from the appraisal district in the first quarter of the year.

This statement is in effect, an invoice from the Appraisal District, requesting you to pay your 2011 taxes by no later than January 31 of 2012. If you escrow (include) this tax within your monthly mortgage payment, the mortgage company will be making the payment for you. If you don't escrow, you'll be writing a check to pay the property tax.

Either way, it's still YOUR money that is being sent to the Appraisal District.

During the first quarter of this year, you will receive a new notice from the appraisal district stating what the district says your property is worth as of January 1, 2011. This is a very important statement as it will determine what you will be expected to pay in property taxes. When you receive this evaluation, Tax Appeals DFW can go to work lowering your property taxes.
